How to care for steel jewelry?

I’m passionate about creating hand-made jewelry made from black steel and silver that's both beautiful and durable. I know you love your jewelry as much as I do, and want to help you care for it properly!  I want to remind my customers that the steel used in my jewelry can rust if exposed to water or left outside in the elements. To keep your jewelry looking its best, I recommend removing it before swimming, showering, or participating in activities that may cause you to sweat. When you're not wearing your jewelry, be sure to store it in a dry place.

Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials to clean your jewelry, as these can damage the finish. Instead, gently wipe it with a soft cloth to remove any dirt or residue then to help protect the steel and prevent rusting apply a light coating of oil, such as olive oil, or wax, such as furniture or car wax, with a soft cloth to the surface of your jewelry. This will help to protect it from moisture and other environmental factors that can cause rusting. By following these simple care instructions, you can keep your steel jewelry looking as beautiful as the day you bought it!
